2019 CLE
The Sixteenth Annual IP and Social Justice CLE Seminar – March 1, 2019.
This program annually qualifies for 4-6 CLE credit hours, including 1 hour of Ethics credit.
Through the CLE programs, IIPSJ stimulates practical and scholarly discourse on questions of disparity in access to and use of information technology and problems of institutionalized racial and economic inequity related to intellectual property.
IIPSJ CLE Faculty
IIPSJ is privileged to work with some of the nation’s leading IP judges, attorneys, and scholars in its CLE programs. While some of the presenting faculty and panel experts change to accommodate the topical needs of each seminar, some of the CLE faculty return annually.
Each year speakers have included CAFC, ITC, and district court judges, in-house counsels of major corporations, USPTO leaders, and leading IP practitioners.
The annual CLE program seeks to advance social justice by including sessions highlighting social justice concerns in emerging IP issues. For example, at our program in 2010, then Director of the USPTO David Kappos spoke on IP and social justice issues. His remarks can be found here.
Program Sponsors: Howard Intellectual Property Program (HIPP); the Institute for Intellectual Property and Social Justice; Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP; Sughrue Mion PLLC; Birch Stewart Kolasch & Birch, LLP; and Google, Inc.
