Launch of the Copyright Claims Board
The U.S. Copyright Office has launched the website for the Copyright Claims Board (CCB). The CCB is the new small claims court for copyright claims and is a lower cost alternative to filing in federal court. The CCB will begin accepting claims on June 16. The new website, ccb.gov, has been launched to provide information on and access to the new process.
For more information on the new process, you can also watch the Case Act Implementation discussion from our 19th Annual IP Social Justice CLE program. During the session Maya Burchette, an Attorney Advisor with the Copyright Claims Board, joins Terrica Carrington, Vice President of Legal Policy & Copyright Counsel with the Copyright Alliance to discuss the CASE Act and CCB. You can watch a recording of the discussion here on our YouTube page.
