Approximately 100 attendees joined us at the 15th annual IP & Social Justice CLE program on March 2, 2018 at Howard University School of Law, despite the bad weather and local city and school closures. We had a full day of discussions, beginning in the morning with plenary sessions featuring IP law updates and our annual Remarks from the Bench panel whose discussion included student tips on applying for clerkships and practitioner tips on oral argument techniques. We had two panels during our social justice luncheon. After lunch, attendees divided up for two sessions into two different tracks: patent and non-patent IP and then finished in a plenary ethics session.

This year we celebrated 15 years of providing continuing legal education programming with a focus on Intellectual Property and Social Justice. Click here to see highlights from over the years.

Several of our students attended CLE sessions and volunteered to write summaries of what they learned. These summaries are linked in the session titles below. In addition, we filmed portions of the program and plan to share the video feed soon.

Additionally, this year an award was presented to the Honorable Susan G. Braden which read:

In Recognition and Appreciation for your Uncompromising Commitment to Teaching, Mentoring, and Inspiring nascent and accomplished Members of the Bar;

To the Progressive Interpretation, Implementation, and Advancement of Intellectual Property Law;

And to Inculcating the Highest Aspirations for Equal Access to Justice and Public Service throughout the Legal Profession.
